Magento 2.3.3 is expected among many after the presence of 2.3.2 latter 2019. So what makes this version notable? What is done by Adobe in both editions Commerce and Open Source Magento ?

After considering Magento 2.3.3 release notes, this version gives us improvements and additional changes in platform, security and payment methods. It is believed that more than 170 functional fixes is made to the core platform and in terms of security there are 75 enhancements. Also, 200 contributions made possible by the community are approved and implemented to this particular version. Minor core code fixes and noteworthy refinements to Inventory Management and GraphQL are included in these contributions by the contributors.

When will Magento 2.3.3 release ?

First Enhancement : PSD2 regulations compliance

Admins now have the ability to turn off auto URL rewrite generations occurred by default when saving category. Increase loading speed by moving unnecessary CSS to the bottom of the page. However, this is not default enabled, if you wish to have it working, go to Stores > Configuration > Advanced > Developer > CSS Settings, click CSS critical path.

The jQuery/ui library has been refactored into widgets, so only in necessary circumstances needed core modules will be loaded. Text is displayed in readable system fonts to make it faster loading page.

GraphQL and enhanced coverage for PayPal assimilations, gift card functions and store credits. Besides, mutations and queries are implemented to aid:

  • Payments methods through PayPal Express, Payflow Pro, Link Express Checkout and other ways like and Braintree.
  • Enable logged-in customers to exchange gift cards for store credits.
  • Enable guest users to use or to remove gift cards and also see their gift card balance on shopping carts.
  • Enable configurable products to be added to carts.

  • usePagination() - A hook that provides pagination logic for components that need to navigate through paged data.
  • useEventListener() - A hook that gives the ability to add a callback function when an event is triggered on an element.
  • useCarousel() - A hook for interacting with the state for a carousel of images.
