Configuration

Go to System => Configurations => Mage World => Testimonial (or Testimonial => Configuration) to configure the module.

General setting

  • In the Enable Capcha field, select Yes to enable Captcha on the frontend to protect your site from spam.
  • In the Maximum number of words field, insert a number that is the maximum number of words for each testimonial displaying at the sidebar block.
  • In the Slide Mode field, select the favorite effects (it is supported 12 special effects for side bar block such as fade, zoom, shuffle or scroll up)
  • In the Total Recent of Testimonials field, insert a number that is the number of testimonials showing at the sidebar block.
  • In the Delay (ms) field, insert a number that is the displaying time for each testimonial at the sidebar block (1s = 1000 ms).
  • In the Height Slide (left or right) field, insert the height of the sidebar block.
  • In the field following: Allow to display email, Allow to display email, Allow to display address, Allow to display Company with website ; select Yes to display information and contact of customers together with their testimonials.
  • In the Allow to display date time field, select Yes to display the created time of the testimonial.
  • In the Allow to display media field, select Yes to display the video or image together with the customer testimonial .
  • In the Allow to display media on popup field, select Yes to enable popup view for the testimonials.
  • In the Width of Media and Height of Media field, insert the size of media.


Email Notification
The module will notice the store owner of the new testimonials.

  • In the Enable Email Notification field, select Yes to allow sending notification automatically when having a new testimonial.
  • In the Template Email field, select a template. It is assumed that you had created the template at Systems => Transaction Emails before.
  • In the Recipient Name and Recipient Email field, insert name and the email address that the notifications will be sent to.

Create testimonial

From backend

Store owner can create testimonials from backend by going to Testimonial => Manage Testimonials then clicking on the Add Item button.

  • You can input content, upload media and select store view for testimonial, then select Enable to display it on the frontend.

From frontend

Customers can submit their own testimonial at the frontend. After finishing, their testimonials will be listed at Manage Testimonials page from the backend to wait for the store owner’s approval.
To navigate to the submit form, customer can click on the Submit Your Testimonial link at top of Testimonial List page.

All the testimonials that customers submitted will be in “Disable” status and they are displayed at Manage Testimonials page on the backend. To show them on the frontend, the store owner must change their status to Enable. Also, the store owner can edit these testimonials normally.

Call testimonial block into left side or right side bar

The module supports to show testimonials on the sidebar block.

  • Show the testimonial on CMS page

In this file, the testimonial block has been called into the left sidebar and using testimonial.phtml. You also can use the advance skin by use the syntax code for testimonial_advance.phtml. (uncomment the code)

Show all testimonials on a page

By default, all testimonials will be shown within the pagination. However, in case you want to show all testimonials without paginating, you can go to the file:

app\design\frontend\default\default\layout\testimonial.xml 


And find the syntax code below:

<block type="testimonial/testimonial" name="list" template="testimonial/list.phtml" />


Replace it to the syntax code below:

<block type="testimonial/testimonial" name="list" template="testimonial/list_nopaging.phtml" />

Using for the other language

Please go to /app/locale/en_US. Copy the file Hm_Testimonial.csv into the folder that contains the language you are using and translate the text in the file (just translate the second phrases after ',').
